This year has been an exciting year for the Forever Moriah Foundation. We were able to meet new families, provide more celebrations, pray for more children, and form partnerships with more people in the community.
One of those partnerships is with the Spotsylvania Towne Center. Katlin McKinney, the marketing director for the Spotsylvania Towne Center, got in contact with Sharday Richardson, the Forever Moriah Foundation’s co-founder, sometime over the summer. The two talked about organizing an activity at the Towne Center for September, in honor of childhood cancer awareness month.
Since then, McKinney has organized three Christmas card decorating contests for the Forever Moriah Foundation, and her and Sharday have more plans in the works for 2022!
McKinney said that the Towne Center tries to work with charities all year long, not just around the holiday season. She has worked with the Fairy Godmother Project, a few breast cancer awareness charities, and other local charities through her time with the Spotsylvania Towne Center.
There’s nothing quite as rewarding as raising awareness for a charity, and McKinney said this is one of her favorite parts of the job: making connections within the community and working with people month after month for promotions, annual events, or other activities.
We’d like to thank our Forever Moriah Family for all of your support throughout the year, and we can’t wait to serve you with more exciting opportunities to come in 2022!
